“Nutbourne is a perfect place to visit on a summer’s day.”

We welcome visitors to the vineyard and cellar door all year round.
In Winter you can wander through the vines along our vineyard trail, take in the views from the windmill balcony, enjoy a selection of our wines with a cheese platter and pick up a bottle or two to take away.

From Easter to Harvest in September, we offer wine by the glass, picnics, guided tours and events. You can now purchase a gift voucher for the 2024 season

Vineyard Trail

Currently Open – Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm – Free of charge

Follow our self-guided trail around the vines to discover how we grow grapes and explore special little spots throughout the vineyard. Look out for the vine quiz on our information signs, bio-diverse wild strips promoting insect and bird life and an ancient oak sculpture in pride of place amongst the vines. The Windmill, Viewing Platform and Wine Lodge are great locations to enjoy views of the South Downs. Our veranda Cellar Door is open to buy wine to take home.

Cheese & Crackers

Call to Book – April to November – Platter for Two £18

Prebook a delicious platter of artisan cheese and savouries to complement our wines. After a tour or a wander through the vines, sip and graze on our platform with breathtaking views of the South Downs.

Presented on a handmade wooden cheeseboard, each includes:

Picnic in the Vines

Monday to Saturday – Easter to Harvest – Picnic for Two £40

We offer our popular picnics from Easter Weekend and throughout the Summer. They are packed with delicious dishes and seasonal Sussex produce from our family farm and kitchens. Collect from our cellar door then explore the vineyard to feast amongst the vines at one of our idyllic picnic spots throughout the estate. Add a bottle of wine when you prebook, or choose from our range when you visit. A selection of our wines are available by the glass.

Picnics will be available to book from Spring 2024.

Guided Tours & Tastings

Saturdays & Bank Holidays – Easter to Harvest – £32 Each

Join us next Summer for a comprehensive guided tour of the vineyard and winery, followed by a tasting of our award winning wines in the lodge, besides the historic windmill. We will try a selection of six wines, including sparkling and still.

Burgers & Bubbly

Bank Holidays & Thursday Evenings – £48 for Two

Bank Holidays and Thursday evenings throughout the summer are a chance to enjoy Gregory Gladwin’s mouthwatering beef burgers, paired with our sparkling wine in the stunning setting of Nutbourne Vineyards.

Pre-book your place in or around the wine lodge to enjoy these idyllic summer occasions, with music wafting through the vines. The burgers are made with our own Sussex-reared beef, cooked in the vinewood-fired oven and served in brioche buns with local tomatoes and salad.

The bubbly: Nutty Wild is a classic bottle fermented sparkler – a joyous dry wine with an abundance of wild strawberries and a citrus tang. We will also have the full range of our award winning still and sparkling wines available from the Nutty Bar.

A Mushroom & Sussex Blue Burger is also available as a vegetarian option.
Additional Burgers can be added for £12 each.

Pop Up in the Vines

Thursday & Saturday Evenings – From £105

Thursday and Saturday evenings throughout the Summer are a chance to enjoy sensational dishes crafted from seasonal produce, paired with Nutbourne wines in the stunning setting of our vineyard. Hosted by the Gladwin Family, these delectable dinners are occasions to never forget. We greet you with a Nutty sparkling reception and welcome to the vineyard, then seat you in the wine lodge for a five course dinner with a special selection of wines to taste from the estate.

Please note that tables are shared seating.
We can offer a private table for 10-12 guests in the Windmill.
Dates for events next Summer will be released in Spring 2024.

Winter Supper Clubs

Cosy up in our Barrel Room this Winter, surrounded by Bridget Gladwin’s contemporary artwork. We’re serving intimate candlelit dinners in the Winery, feasting on sensational dishes crafted from seasonal produce, paired with Nutbourne wines. Hosted by the Gladwin Family, we greet you with a Nutty sparkling reception and welcome to Nutbourne, before a five course dinner with a special selection of wines to taste from the estate.

Private Tours and Events

Please enquire – From May 2024 onwards – From £360

Private Tours & Tastings can be offered for groups of up to 40 guests.

We have a minimum tour charge of £360 based on up to 12 guests, plus additional guests at £30 each.
We begin with tea, coffee and home-made cakes. You will have a dedicated tour guide taking you through the wine year, with a walk through the vines and around the lakes to meet our alpacas and then a detailed introduction to the secrets of winemaking. The tours include a tutored tasting of six award-winning sparkling and still wines, either in the wine lodge or in the winery itself.

Picnics or a catered lunch or supper can be added to a private tour (minimum 20 guests).

Bookings for picnics, events, tours and experiences are confirmed once the required deposit or payment has been made. Every booking is for a specific date and we reserve the space for you.

Cancellation or Postponement of a booking will be subject to the following charges:

At more than 4 weeks notice – 10% of the expected total charge

At between 4 and 1 weeks notice – 50% of the expected total charge

At less than 1 weeks notice – 100% of the expected total charge

NB. These Terms do not apply to major events or Weddings.

Our Tours and Events take place regardless of the weather conditions. Please dress appropriately for an outdoor experience.

Opening Hours

Our Cellar Door is currently open from Monday to Saturday. You are most welcome to drop in to follow our Vineyard Trail and buy wine and farm meats.
